Monaco is easy to explore on foot. To help visitors, the website citywalk.visitmonaco.com lets you choose your route and discover Monaco at your own pace.

With ‘Visit Monaco City Walk’, you can now explore the Principality in a different way (and on foot). The website lets you plan your trip and leave your car behind when you arrive.

‘Monaco isn’t just a destination to visit, it’s a place to be experienced. With Visit Monaco City Walk, we want to give visitors everything they need to explore its different neighbourhoods and discover something new as they go.’

Guy Antognelli, Director of the Tourist and Convention Authority.

A new way to explore Monaco

‘Visit Monaco City Walk’ suggests a selection of walking routes that showcase the diversity of the Principality’s districts. The idea is simple: take the time to discover Monaco while exploring its main attractions. Dedicated signs will guide you smoothly from the Casino de Monte-Carlo to Larvotto beach via Mareterra, whilst the interactive map shows your route and essential information (distance, estimated walking time, places along the way).

And it’s well worth it… In every district of the Principality, you’ll find modern creations by contemporary artists alongside older works of art. In Fontvieille, Le poing (1980) by César stands across from Bourdelle’s La Grande baigneuse accroupie (1906-1907). In the Rose Garden, locals and visitors can see the tribute to Princess Grace sculpted by Kees Verkade (1983), Botero’s Woman Smoking a Cigarette (1987), and Evolution(1979) by Emma de Sigaldi, a late 20th century Monegasque sculptor… And on the Place du casino, Anish Kapoor’s dazzling Sky Mirror has become one of the emblems of Monte-Carlo.

Monaco in the digital age

‘Visit Monaco City Walk’ is just the latest in a range of resources designed to help visitors make the very most of their stay in the Principality. Other handy apps include Monapass, Your Monaco, Monaco Bus, Taxi Monaco, Mobee, Citymapper, Ma Place PMR and StreetNav. ‘By bringing essential information and mobility solutions together on a single platform, we are making it easier for visitors to plan their trip and get around the Principality,’ says Pascal Rouison, Head of the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition.

It is also a perfect complement for the Rainier III Sculpture Trail, an itinerary specially designed to showcase some 150 artworks.

For practical information, the citywalk.visitmonaco.com website lets users check parking availability in real time before setting off and, where available, reserve a space in one of Monaco’s car parks, whether they are travelling in an electric or petrol or diesel vehicle.
