The Condamine and Monte-Carlo markets are popular local attractions and a must-visit for those hoping to discover the true Monaco.

Located on Place d’Armes, at the foot of the Rocher, La Condamine Market is an integral part of Monaco’s heritage. Established on 18 November 1880, during the leadership of Mayor Count Félix Gastaldi, this friendly gathering place is the authentic heart of the Principality.

Open every day throughout the year, the market is home to twenty or so traders (a fishmonger, butchers, bakers and delicatessens) inside the market hall and numerous fruit and vegetable sellers, florists and small local producers on Place du Marché.

People love to gather here to savour Monegasque specialities on site: socca, barbagiuans, pissaladière, fougasse… Visitors can also get a table in this “gourmet hall” to enjoy an evening glass of wine and a few tapas with colleagues, friends or families.

At La Condamine Market, the “South of France” spirit is most clearly evident in the hall, with its terracotta tiles, scattered with small ceramic squares bearing Provençal motifs…

In addition to the market, Place d’Armes boasts some lovely terraces, a newsstand, a souvenir stand and a children’s playground.

Another unmissable gathering and shopping spot in the Principality is the Monte-Carlo Market, which has operated on Avenue Saint-Charles since 2003.

A stone’s throw from the Casino Gardens and in the middle of the Carré d’Or, it also hosts fruit and vegetable sellers, florists and regional producers every day, and offers a wide range of regional and Italian specialities.
