The Monte-Carlo Country Club has hosted the Tennis Europe Junior Masters Monte-Carlo since 2020. It is a dress rehearsal for these young, under-16 players before they, perhaps, go on to compete in the Rolex Masters.

This is an important event for the future of European tennis, featuring the eight top male and female players in the under-14 and under-16 categories of the Tennis Europe Junior Tour.

The Tennis Europe Junior Masters Monte-Carlo, organised by the Monegasque Tennis Federation and operating under the high patronage of Prince Albert II of Monaco, is being held on the legendary clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club, which is also where the iconic ATP Masters 1000 event, the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters is played.

Established in 1990, the Tennis Europe Junior Tour has seen a number of future talents pass through in recent years: Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek, Holger Rune, Elena Rybakina, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Emma Raducanu and Daniil Medvedev. The tour is divided into three age groups: under 16s, under 14s and under 12s. In 2023, there were a total of 490 individual tournaments across these three categories combined, held in almost every one of the 48 active Tennis Europe member countries.

The Tennis Europe Junior Tour is a dress rehearsal for life on the professional circuit. It offers a cumulative weekly ranking, ‘Player of the Year’ awards (past winners include Rafael Nadal, Grigor Dimitrov and Kim Clijsters) and an end-of-season Masters tournament for the eight best players in each category. As in professional tennis, an anti-doping programme has been set up in cooperation with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to educate young players about the dangers of doping.

The Tennis Europe Junior Tour attracts players from beyond Europe. Coco Gauff, who won her first Masters WTA at just 20 years old, was number 1 in the ranking. Other non-European players, including Qinwen Zheng from China, Alex De Minaur from Australia, Juan Martin Del Potro from Argentina and Lindsey Davenport from the US, also got their first taste of European competition on the tour.
