Employment in Monaco: up 27.6% in ten years
According to figures from Monaco Statistics, the Principality’s jobs market is flourishing, with increasing numbers of women in employment.One statistic in particular illustrates the unique nature of Monaco’s economy: At the end of 2025, there were 77,866 people employed in the country, far higher than its actual population of around 39,000. The Principality is a major source of work for people living in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France and in Italy. Employment in Monaco has grown by 27.6% over the past ten years, with almost 17,000 more jobs than in 2016.
