Since 1998, the Monte-Carlo Automobile Rally, the world’s oldest and most renowned road race, has also offered a historical race.

The Monte-Carlo Historic Rally is a flagship competition for lovers of motor sport.  Created in 1998, it is exclusively for cars that took part in the Monte-Carlo Automobile Rally between 1911, when it was first founded, and 1983.  This iconic event is based on the concept of events that combine regularity with concentration.  It features routes and city start points that have made the history of the Monte Carlo Rally, such as Oslo, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Athens, Barcelona, Milan, etc.

Throughout the route, spectators can see classic cars such as the Renault 5 Alpine, the Opel Kadett and the Alfa Romeo Alfetta.

The participants are motor sport enthusiasts, but also include professionals, such as the seven-time Monegasque World Rally Champion Daniel Elena. Peugeot, for example, enters a team every year.
