The opening chapter of a cycle of cultural events, Grace #1 offers a fresh perspective on a woman who, beyond her legendary roles as Hitchcock’s heroine and her destiny as a princess, embodies a modernity and elegance that remain ever relevant.
Drawn mainly from the collections and archives of the Palace, Grace #1 seeks to reveal “the sensitive human being and the remarkably brilliant woman who wa, strong, courageous, and freedom-loving woman behind the goddess of MGM Studios,” explains Natalia Mlodzikowska, exhibition curator at the Palais Princier. The experience is both intimate and universal. “In a hushed, boudoir-like setting, visitors discover portraits in various formats that reveal a less conventional Grace—more spontaneous, wonderfully alive and smiling at different moments of her life.” Among them: an iconic portrait of the young woman on the beaches of Montego Bay, Jamaica, captured by photographer Howell Conant in 1955.

Grace #1 also unveils many personal objects. “Brooches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces with floral or animal motifs pay tribute to the nature she loved so much, recalling the carefree days at the Roc Agel estate where she would go with the Prince to recharge her batteries with her family and pets, away from prying eyes and the paparazzi.”
The exhibition highlights Grace Kelly’s contemporary resonance. “Her style and aura do not belong to the past: they continue to inspire fashion, photography, and design today.” Grace Kelly remains a symbol that transcends borders—embodying elegance, independence, and a certain vision of the American dream turned European.
Grace #1 is also intended as a prelude: “This is a first exhibition, one that paves the way for more to come,” adds Natalia Mlodzikowska.
