Monaco Heliport, located by the sea in the Fontvieille district, makes it possible to reach Nice-Côte d’Azur International Airport by taking a seven-minute flight.

Built in 1980, Monaco International Heliport is located in the business district of Fontvieille, where there is a large international population. It is an asset for the Principality, providing a regular link with Nice Airport (France’s second-largest airport) via flights taking off from Nice or Monaco every 15 minutes.

Monaco Heliport thus connects with flights departing from and arriving in the French Riviera’s capital city and enables passengers to check in right through to their final destination, with direct access to the departure lounges of many airlines.

Passengers travelling with carry-on baggage will be taken directly to the departure lounges in Terminals 1 and 2 of the airport. Nice Airport makes it easier for passengers from Monaco Heliport to pass through customs, by streamlining their transfer.

The heliport is a base for two companies: Héli Air, which has carried more than 3 million passengers since it was founded in 1976, and Monacair, the official Monegasque operator of helicopter flights between Nice and Monaco.

Both companies can arrange VIP travel on request, and offer bespoke private flights to Cannes, Saint-Tropez and even Sardinia. They can take passengers to a winter sports resort or for a shopping trip in Milan, Venice or Paris.

Monaco Heliport, which catered to 79,000 passengers in 2019, is due to be renovated in the near future. The aim of this project will be to maximise the available parking space in the hangars and enable the tarmac to handle heavier aircraft, including 10-tonne helicopters.

As part of the Energy and Climate Plan, Monaco Heliport has earned carbon accreditation from the Airports Council International Europe, the first heliport to do so. In 2017, the Civil Aviation Authority, in collaboration with the Monegasque Department of the Environment, established a programme to achieve carbon neutrality and significantly reduce the heliport’s greenhouse gas emissions.
