To make it easier to get around the Principality, Monaco has joined forces with Citymapper to offer solutions that are right for everyone.

By train, bus, water taxi, car sharing (Mobee), electric bike, even helicopter… or on foot, Citymapper Monaco proposes a variety of routes, combining several modes of transport, for visiting Monaco or getting around the Principality.

The purpose of this free app, which was developed as part of the #ExtendedMonaco programme, is to offer alternatives to a reliance on cars in a bid to promote both wellbeing and sustainable development.

“The introduction of this tool is one of a number of projects seeking to improve infrastructure and the mobility experience within the country, just like the new self-driving shuttle.

It is linked to a wider vision, a smart mobility ambition,” explains Georges Gambarini, Smart City Programme Manager in the Smart Nation Department.

Citymapper is a start-up which was founded in London by Azmat Yusuf, a former Google employee.

“I thought I was the only idiot that needed help getting around, but it turned out a lot of people needed help,” he told the press.

And the millions of Citymapper users all over the world can attest to that.
